The unveiled truth of Metal - Interview with HATEMATTER
April 30, 2024
The mix of Modern Metal, Melodic Death Metal and aspects of Heavy metal done by the Brazilian sextet HATEMATTER found its peak at “Antithesis”, their latest album was released back in 2023. And it marks a turn in the career of Brazilian sextet HATEMATTER due two facts: the sad loss of one of their founders, the guitarist (and friend) Gustavo Polidori, and the overcoming of all troubles and pain that became the inspiration for their songs. Now, we had the opportunity to have a talk with them, and to know about the band’s past, their present and their plans for the future.

Babylon A.D. – Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day
April 29, 2024
For a rock band to stick around more than three decades and still have three original members is quite a rarity in today’s musical landscape, but that’s what BABYLON A.D. have accomplished with their latest release “Rome Wasn’t Built in a Day”.

April 22, 2024
LEAH doesn’t disappoint with “The Glory and the Fallen” but neither does she thrill. She stays in a safe space, consistently on brand. No one will accuse her of betraying her fanbase.

Vandenplas - The Empyrean Equation of the Long Lost Things
April 19, 2024
This was a fantastic album. For me, the best part of the album was listening to the complex compositions and their impeccable musicianship. Although the music is sophisticated, it is also very easy to listen to.

Decrowned – Persona Non Grata
April 18, 2024
This was a solid album that I believe will appeal to Metalheads who crave that deep punch and power of Metal, but it also offers some melody within the beatings, for those who need a seasoning of that with their musical palate. The entire affair was both dark and energizing.

Jack Brain – Designing Chaos
April 17, 2024
This type of music can be done one of two ways in my opinion. The first way is to go all in on the dissonance…embrace it, push it, and let it fill your ears with the sweet sounds of dismay. The second way, and that it what we have here, is to guise the dissonance by trying to push vocal melodies, but when that fails, what we have left is an awful sound.

Paul Di ’Anno’s Warhorse – Stop the War
April 16, 2024
Can you teach an old dog new tricks? or should I say, can an old dog teach us new tricks? Paul Di’Anno will answer that question with his newest effort with his latest band WARHORSE.
review
The Lumberjack Feedback – The Stronghold
April 16, 2024
This was a solid album. Instrumentals can be hard to keep the listener’s attention because there are no vocals. But I appreciate the way the band holds a set of weighted accents and just lets the melody peek through every now and again. This kind of restraint allows the more contentious sounds to plow through.

review
Nulled – The Traitor
April 13, 2024
It could be “The Traitor” is too ambitious for a full-length album and an EP may have sufficed. But then again, if Deathcore is your jam, then it just might be the album of the year for you.
review
Austere – Beneath the Threshold
April 11, 2024
This is a mashup of Black and Doom Metal, but it’s so much more than this label. It delves deeply into themes of sorrow, anguish, and introspection, evoking a visceral sense of loss, pain, and regret. Interwoven with themes of mortality, and existential reflection, the music's intensity is indeed noteworthy, as it immerses listeners in a haunting journey through the depths of human emotion. Life can be more painful than death.
