John Diva & The Rockets Of Love

It might be the next step, but there is more to the John Diva & The Rockets Of Love than your average Glam Metal band, especially since there aren't that many out there as the in the past. Being fairly eclectic this time around with the soundtrack to your escape, "The Big Easy", the experience sees a band taking it down a notch in order to come up with the best possible atmosphere under the banner of Rock music. The remembrance of things not done or missed, at times, is a heavy burden, and it seems that it is hard to detach from that feeling, or those memories. However, there is always that measure of hope that it is possible to go forward, head beyond the mistakes and into a brighter future. The Canadian Tribunal are there to remind of the weight of those memories in their new album, "The Weight of Remembrance", which was recently released. Steinmetal had to know more with a great interview with the two main individuals at the helm.

Things aren't positive, the situation is rough everywhere, but everything is in the eye of the beholder. Looking to the future, there are a lot of variations of how things are going to be. The picture doesn't look that great to be honest, and there is a lot to fear from. Many artists in Metal already made efforts to show the uglier side of the truth, of what can happen but many simply dismiss. The ongoing supergroup force of Death Metal, Siege Of Power, just released its new album, "This Is Tomorrow". There is a lot of distress and uncertainty. Steinmetal had a good talk with drummer, Bob Bagchus, to understand a little bit more.

Being varied, even in Metal or Rock music, can get you places. Not mainly to be booked to a lot more venues, but to actually express yourself musically in different ways other than in a singular pattern that might be great but also limiting in a way. Taking chances, and doing it old school, but with a sense of diversity, there is the Mexican band, Freeroad. Writing songs by the old book of vintage Metal, along with sprites of Hard Rock, is what they feel and what they do. With the release of their debut album, "Do What You Feel", Steinmetal had a good talk with the band's Alejandro Velazco about the experience.

As a thriving Metal scene, the revamping of the past is crucial in order to make a better present. The Canadian Metal band, Sword, once one of the prime champion of the once high rated Canadian Metal scene, is back with a new album, "III". Exploring in depth, and taking care of the music to fit to the right scope, there is the Hard Rock / Heavy Metal foundation of IT'sALIE, led by the highly talented singer, Giorgia Colleluori. This time around releasing "Emosphere", Giorgia and Steinmetal had a lot of ground to cover to understand the new record better.

DEATHLESS LEGACY hailing from Pisa, Italy blend many elements together ranging from traditional Heavy Metal to symphonic Black Metal. More importantly, they incorporate theatrical elements into their live shows, forming the whole concept of DEATHLESS LEGACY. In the meantime, they released their sixth album "Mater Lavarum" and had their first ever overseas shows at the famous 70000tons Of Metal festival. Metal Temple writer Thomas Kumke had the opportunity to speak to vocalist Steva about the new album, their stage performance concept and their recent live experiences on the Caribbean Sea.

Persistence is a feature of the great, because even going against the tide, some bands never give up. One of them is KEEP OF KALESSIN, of Norway. After some commercial praise with "Armada", "Kolossus" and "Reptilian", extensive touring, the band had some changes in its music on "Epistemology". Now, after seven years, the Dragon is back once more with "Katharsis", their new album that is about to be released. Metal Temple writer "Metal Mark" Marcos Garcia recently had the chance to interview the band.

Even with being busy, especially if a musician is involved, music, or to be more accurate, the creative mind, might be driven away from a state of mind but only until a certain point. There are countless examples of musicians that life dictated something else for them, only to return later re-kickstart their past into a new future. The same was for Written In Blood's Bert Hoving (ex-God Dethroned), by forming the new band. Recently releasing their new album, Bert and his mates are out for war, with bloodied Melodic Death Metal at their side. Steinmetal had a talk about the new album, with a wish to find out as much as possible.

Good vibes along with old school music, what can be more uplifting than that? Following the Swedish Heavy Metallers, Screamer, there is no surprise there. No matter the looks of the book's cover, the inside is vibrant, energetic and positive. Releasing their new album, "Kingmaker", the nature of Heavy Metal is at full extent. Steinmetal had a good talk with the band's Henrik Petersson and Andreas Wikström, about the new album, its experience and of course the soul of the music.

Every album is its own journey, every song has its own identity, and every time, Markus Pfeffer, the mastermind behind the Barnabas Sky project, has a lot of ideas that he wishes to accomplish. You can call it busy bee, or rather a riff machine, or simply a person that wishes to express himself more by the sounds of new tunes. Pfeffer's will be done and his new album with Barnabas Sky, "What Comes To Light", shows just that. Steinmetal once again took the time to talk to Pfeffer about what is going on under the ruins.

Holding up for the sake of freedom, few against the many without remorse or regret. Men's freedom has been challenged throughout history, and there were those that fought for it, bled and died for it. The Italian Black Metal band, Sirrush, wanted to make history remembered, in particular for the courage for the ideal. Following the release of their new "Molon Labe", Steinmetal had a talk with the band's Lorenzo Di Vincenzo, also known as Otagron, to find out more about the historical meaning and importance of freedom.

Self-damaging isn't a new thing, it is part of use, whether mentally or physically. Sustaining such damage for a long period of time, at times cannot be understood as a risk, only later on, growing up, and the repercussions appear in waves. Raising the notion about human damage, in various ways, there is the Heavy / Thrash Metal band, Gomorra, setting of with a heavier album titled "Dealer Of Souls". Steinmetal had a good talk with the band's guitarist, Damir Eskic about the new experience.

In the modern world, where social media has a grasp that is more or less untouchable, consummation of opinions is at a mass, but does it benefit us in the long run? Creating divisions between people might give a different impression of what is to be a path forward for mankind. Concerns and a first statement comes from the newly emerging band, Mythosphere, teaming up Doom Metal heroes to create something different. Steinmetal had a good talk with Dana Ortt of the band to understand what is going proggy this time around.

Sworn Enemy

Back in September 2022, I went to the Anthrax 40^th anniversary show at the O2 Academy in Birmingham. Shockingly, it wasn't the dulcet tones of Joey Belladonna that had me transfixed, nor was it the rambunctious charm of Municipal Waste's Tony Foresta that grabbed me; it was the glorious ferocity of Sworn Enemy and the infectious savagery of the band's vocalist Sal LoCoco that mesmerised me and left me gobsmacked. The sheer brutality that emanated from Sal's lungs could've rivalled the force of a fleet of jet engines, so being naturally drawn to the more aggressive, violent side of life, I jumped at the opportunity to interview him on behalf of Metal Temple.

With a set of pipes on him that could melt your face off quicker than acid, Sal is a gentle giant - coming in at an impressive 6ft 4" - in real life and comes across as a man of pensive thought and few words, and someone worth listening to when he's got something to say. His hardcore prowess speaks volumes without him having to say too much, and his passionate music speaks for itself. So, how does a band that cut its teeth in hardcore over twenty-five years ago continue to grow? What gets a hardcore vocalist riled up enough to metaphorically break stuff in his music? And is life always on the loud side of things? Read on to find out how the band has evolved, the influences behind the music, and to dig in to find out more about the man behind twenty-five year of Sworn Enemy's uncompromising audial violence.

So given we live on a diet of fat riffs, meaty riffs, and most of all, delicious riffs, you'll be pleased to discover a rather tasty band to satisfy your need metallic chunkiness. Meet THE MISER, a groovy, rock 'n' roll influenced, stoner-type, brawny band from the UK, who pack their artillery full of thick, chonky riffs. These guys manage to make misery sound fun, focusing on gloriously dark thematic to fuel their burning embers, infusing nasty hooks, and whopping melodies to get their macabre fire roaring.

Our Editor, Leanne "Metal Maiden" Evans, spoke with Scott (Guitars) and Matty (Bass) to talk about the band's recent single, "House on the Hill", and to delve into why us metalheads adore the dark and all things death, and a few other "outside the box" ideas in between.

Aspiring to be more than the regular, to be thunderous and explosive, to be a little provocative and not politically correct, that is more or less Heavy Metal. It is true that times changed, and the rebellious nature of the genre faded, and it got a somewhat in line with the times, nevertheless, the spirit never really died, and is there, still kicking, even in lower octaves. Stating the fact that there are thrills, kicks and screams, there is Blackrain. Their nature is that being wild and free can cross decades, and even centuries. Recently coming up with "Untamed", the Hard Rock and Heavy Metal flames burn bright with each chord and chorus. Steinmetal had a great talk with Swan of the band about the nature of the music, what is going on now and there is digestion involved too.

The phrase out of the darkness and into the light isn't merely by Kreator, it has a much deeper meaning when a person attempts to overcome hardship. It is not about escaping from a certain fate, but challenging one's self in order not to have a written future. Finding ways out of the dark, there is the positivity that lies within the Swedish Freternia Metallers. The legendary old schoolers Leatherwolf, similar to a handful of bands that have been coming back, suffered from the same thing, but eventually returned. Luckily for the world of Metal that their music triumphed. Recently releasing their new "Kill The Hunted", the knives are sharper then even, as well as the band's precision.
