Teramaze – Eli: A Wonderful Fall from Grace
May 22, 2024
Those who are familiar with the band know how talented they are, and they can cut loose with the best Progressive bands. Restraint is the name of the game on this album. It takes much more of an ego to focus on songwriting instead of a bevy of time changes and an overwhelming display of musical prowess. Their prolific songwriting as of late has showed a band that has honed in and hunkered down, and this album is wonderful.

Machukha – Mochari
May 21, 2024
The album feels like a visceral portrayal of humanity being overwhelmed by the harshness of the world. Each track plunges the listener into a sonic landscape where raw intensity and unrelenting soundscapes mirror the struggle and resilience of the human spirit against relentless adversity. The music envelops you, creating an experience that is both profound and unsettling, capturing the essence of a world that is unforgiving.

Lunar Spells - Sacraments of Necromantical Empires
May 20, 2024
All in all, LUNAR SPELLS’s “Sacraments of Necromantical Empires,” is a solid listen, if unremarkable. If you like raw black metal, you could do worse than listening to this album.
review
Pallbearer - Mind Burns Alive
May 20, 2024
All in all, PALLBEARER’s “Mind Burns Alive,” is an highly emotional AND impressive tour de force. It’s intense in a lot of different ways and I enjoyed my time with it. With that being said, I can understand why some fans aren’t going to like it. Give this one a chance and let it really sink in. “Mind Burns Alive,” deserves your time and patience.

Traveler – Prequel to Madness
May 19, 2024
Extreme Metal fans may find “Prequel to Madness” a little too clean and predictable for their tastes, but lovers of classic rock and traditional Heavy Metal will thrill at this latest album from TRAVELER.

review
Seth – La France des Maudits
May 17, 2024
The melodies on the album are quite enchanting. There is a stiff and thick structure of Black Metal that is augmented with a story that seems to come to life as you listen to the album. It pulls you in, throws you into the heart of the conflict, and leaves your body bruised and broken by the end.

Lares - Et in Arcadia Ego
May 15, 2024
Even if tripped out doom/sludge and long songs aren’t your thing, give this one a chance. It’s so weird, nearly to the point of being alien, that even if you don’t like it or it isn't normally isn’t your style, I think it will still be an engrossing experience that will pull you until the very last second.

review
Dolmen Gate - Gateways of Eternity
May 14, 2024
....isn’t a bad album but it’s missing something to really propel to higher highs. I’m confident the band will nail down their formula so I will be watching for their sophomore album.

Sullvation – The Beginning of the End
May 10, 2024
My hometown of Chicago is known for many amazing worldly contributions including pizza, Italian beef, diverse culture, world class architectural and yes, our sports teams, and also has a huge history of influential music with blues, opera, jazz and rock, so with their debut release “The Beginning of the End” one of our very own SULLUVATION will try and continue that tradition.
review
Isenordal – Requiem for Eirênê
May 10, 2024
This album was quite moving, and I found it to be cohesive, even though many of the elements were competing with one another. I also found it shrouded in mystery, and deeper meanings with each new listen. This is one that the listeners will remember, as it etched into their very memories.
interview
Tu me ensinas a fazer renda, e eu te ensino a fazer Metal
May 9, 2024
The Northeast region of Brazil is known for its cultural richness, for its lovely and humble people, its beautiful beaches, and mainly for some sad facts (many still thinks about misery and droughts on the region, as it isn’t found on other places on the country). And such good things enable the arising of many excellent Metal acts, being one of them the trio HEADSPAWN, from the city of João Pessoa (PA). Besides some define their music as Groove Metal, on “Parasites” (their first album) one can check a rich musical work. And as we had the opportunity to talk with the band about their ideas, plans and ambitions, here is the result of such great talk.

From Hell and back to deafening ears
May 9, 2024
After more than 20 years of absence, SIEGRID INGRID, a quintet that mixes hardcore, Thrash Metal, Punk Rock, Death Metal and Grindcore, is back for one more round. As a living legend of the Metal scene of São Paulo, “Back From Hell”, their third and latest full-length shows the same furious and caustic form of music that earned the quintet its fame. And we had the opportunity to talk with them.

Malsten – The Haunting of Silvåkra Mill - Rites of Passage
May 2, 2024
The lengthy songs hit hard, and there are just enough of them. Any more, and they would overstay their welcome. The album has just the right balance between an immense weight, and subtle tension that can rise up and surprise the listener.
