interview
Steve Hochheiser - (Detente)
December 28, 2008
The Thrash Metal scene left a huge legacy. Modern extreme metal bands still pay homage with their music to the pioneers who cleared new paths in music in the early 80s. It was not an easy thing to do in the US. Glam/Hair metal ruled the airwaves and not even the popular european heavy metal bands couldn't easily survive, especially in LA. But the early thrash bands had the nerve, the balls (huge balls the size of a mountain) and the passion to stand their ground and deliver the most extreme, angry, dark music the world had ever seen.
DETENTE
was one of those bands. Even if they managed to release only one album, they were one of the very few that sponsored a female vocalist. With lyrics drawn from politics and aggression against the status quo, much like punk did in the UK,
DETENTE
set some standards that are still being followed after more than two decades. Recently they came back together and re-released their debut
Recognize No Authority
and a compilation of their old demos titled
History 1
. We contacted their bassist, compose and founding member,
Steve Hochheiser
to have a talk about their past, their present and their future.
interview
Britta - (Cripper)
October 31, 2008
There are times when women probably have more balls than many male metalheads. The
ARCH ENEMY
example is something we are all aware of. What many of you may not be aware is the new Thrash Metal force from Hannover, Germany, with a beautiful, yet devilish frontwoman named
Britta
. Read below and see what a real metalhead is like...
interview
Paul Logue - (Eden’s Curse)
October 13, 2008
It's good news when a band's debut album is excellent. Then, it's even better news to receive an impressive follow-up.
The Second coming
should nail you down, if you're 'into' the melodic yet powerful Hard Rock blend of the interleagua clan of
EDEN'S CURSE
. Songwriter/bassist
Paul Logue
is here again to verify all the beautiful things you'll about to listen to from late October onwards.

interview
Harry Oellers - (Axxis)
November 5, 2007
My beloved German metallers AXXIS just released their lastest album, Doom Of Destiny. An excellent follow-up to their Paradise In Flames (2006) release, indeed, and we grabbed the chance to ask the band's keyboardist/songwriter/co-producer Harry Oellers a few questions regarding this new album. Harry, thanks a lot!
interview
Johan Fahlberg - (Jaded Heart)
October 30, 2007
JADED HEART seems to have surpassed the departure of charismatic singer Michael Bormann. Equally dynamic frontman Johan Fahlberg has put the melodic Heavy Rock band bak in the map and - as their latest album, Sinister Mind, confirms - we will have lots more to hear from this notable German act. Johan was kind enough to answer briefly regarding all things JADED HEART era 2007.

interview
Paul Logue & Michael Eden - (Eden's Curse)
August 27, 2007
Looking at the EDEN'S CURSE review over and over again, I suppose I should have placed an even higher grading. Eden's Curse can as well be one of the most notable Hard 'n' Heavy releases in 2007, let aside the fact we're talkin' about one of the most impressive debut releases I've listened to the last years... Paul Logue (bass) and Michael Eden (vocals) are kind and fluent enough to let us know how does it feel to record such an excellent 'melodic' stuff in some 'angry' 21st century.
interview
David Readman - (David Readman)
August 27, 2007
David Readman's first solo album is the hot pick for this year's summer. Fresh, 'hard' and passionate, the CD's been spinning a lot in my CD player the last days. The man behind the PINK CREAM 69 mic was more than eager to answer a couple (or dozen?) of questions and - by the way - we did 'unearth' his relation to Adrian Smith. Wow...
