Constructed Stars of Mortared Bone (Reissue)
Lightcrusher
it is not winning any awards for musicianship or songwriting. The band has some talent, and this was obviously an early effort, where the amateur qualities come through strongest.
Self Made Monster
Razumikhin
One might say that it lacked a clear vision, but I dismiss that and appreciate the band’s willingness to explore. Too many musicians just play it safe. What the duo did on “Self Made Monster” pulled Black Metal from the trenches and brought it to new heights.
Reconnected
Care of Night
Nostalgic, pretty, and with hooks that last for days, “Reconnected” is a great way to introduce yourself to the band or reconnect with them for fans who know their work.
Wrapped in Mist
Helga
This was a very well constructed album in the genre. The band knows when to turn it up, and when and how to let the melodies ride out. It was quite beautiful, but also dangerous when needed.
Emergence
Autarkh
Contemporary metal adventures, indeed. This is unique and imaginative music in every sense of those words. The backbone is impenetrable and unyielding, but the band also play with melodies like an alchemist trying to create the fountain of youth. This is an album that encompasses all that you would want to hear from the Metal genre.
Engraved With Pain
Morne
This is one album that does not even hint at catharsis, or absolution. Whatever tomb you managed to build for yourself will be the one that you will lay in, eternally.
Orthania
Bergrizen
BERGRIZEN is a Black Metal band hailing from Kyiv, Ukraine. Formed in 2007, this is […]
Heaven Comes Down
Dokken
Many of the songs just lacked that ummph that made the band famous. Some harmonies and melodies were present, but it sounded more like a Don Dokken solo album for me, and they just did not have any of the energy that they used to have.
Echoes of Yore
Lord of Shadows
Although some of the songs in the middle did get a bit repetitive, the sound is very nice, polished, and done with good production. If the band can vary some of the songs a bit, the album would go from good to excellent for me.
The Black Stream
Night In Gales
Any fan of death metal or melodic death metal needs to check this out, I can’t imagine how it would disappoint anyone.
Funeral Altar Epiphanies
Temple Of Scorn
This is one of the better debuts I’ve heard from a death metal band.
The Mordidious One
Columbarium
COLUMBARIUM’s ‘The Mordidious One’ is a solid as hell doom metal album.
Afterimage
Restless Spirit
RESTLESS SPIRIT’s third release, “Afterimage,” bears repeating . . .. a lot.
Glass Future
Howling Giant
Album by album, track by track, HOWLING GIANT has earned their growing fanbase.
My Veneration
Patriarchs In Black
All in all, Dan and co have released an excellent sophomore album in ‘My Veneration’ which will hit all the sweet spots for doom/metal fans.

Reaching for the Light
Demonio
"When Stoner Metal/Rock gains traces of horror films" can be the initial idea of what the band is trying to do.
Beneath the Crimson Prophecy
Diabolic Night
The mix between Speed/Heavy Metal with Black/Thrash Metal touches and other influences offered by this band is hard to resist to.
Fragments of Consciousness
Disconnected Souls
If Light can be bound to Darkness, the music of this quintet is a fine musical depiction of such thing.
Built to Last
Atlas
ATLAS comes from England with a form of AOR/Hard Rock to hook new fans.
Dissimulant
Ruin Lust
It's an old and good 'back 2 basics' mix between Grindcore and Death Metal, indeed...

Prepare for a Black Metal lash with this album!
DetoNation
Endstille
In the name of German Black Metal, this quartet's music will crush the ground with a massive musical bombing!
Cold and Stiff
Cromlech
An old and evil spirit rises from the past on thisalbum. Its name's CROMLECH!
Burn It Up
Bulletbelt
Many Metal genres' influences converge on the music of this quartet.
This Place Only Brings Death
Heart of a Coward
I find the band’s take on it to be inventive and fresh. Melodies are often overdone in formulas that can plague the genre. Instead, the crop up at surprising times, washing the filth away for just a few bars. But it’s that filth that most listeners will connect with, and it is glorious.
Invoking the Abysmal Night
Aegrus
The album featured many traditional Black Metal elements, along with some doom and gloom, and enough variety to keep the listener engaged.
Amen
Mourning Mist
This album shows a mix between Doom Metal classic outfit with elements from the 90s.
Forever Broken
