Touching Infinity
Sorrows Path
Sometimes, little musical experiments can make the difference, that same difference that makes you pick a band in the middle of a tsunami of common bands as a promise. These experiments made many great names in Metal arise from underground. It's no sin to say that IRON MAIDEN rose from underground due the set of differences they bear. So we can say that the Greek quintet SORROWS PATH has the needed courage to try different ways when others prefer to do on traditional ways. Just some moments listening to "Touching Infinity", and you'll understand.
In the instrumental parts, we can label them as a Doom Metal band with tempos not as slow as we are used, along with fine melodies that diminishes the usual bitterness of the genre. But along with this, the vocals use a more clean and melodic way to sing stay away from those nasty and sometimes nasty tunes used on Doom Metal. So there are many little differences that make their musical work unique, and very good as well.
The sound quality is very good as well. The efforts were done in a way that could fuse the bitter and raw sound from Doom Metal with the melodic harmonies that the band creates. Obviously, the band got a very good sound clarity level, because we can understand what they are playing, and the instrumental tunes were chosen in a way that the melodies can be understood easily.
Their songs are all extremely good, but "Fantasies Will Never Die" with its heavy melodies and Prog Metal touché in some moments, the bittersweet work from guitars on "Leneh", the fine contrast between melodic and tender moments with some heavier ones on "My Chosen God" (that shows a fine work on vocals, going from melodic tunes to some harsh screams), the excellent work from bass guitar and drums that guides the very good harmonies of "Metaphysical Song", the seduction made music shown on "Beauty", and the modern weight that fills "Revival of Feminine Grandeur" are the better moments of "Touching Infinity".
This is their third album, so let's hope that SORROWS PATH could become greater as soon as possible, because labels cannot describe how good they are.
