Nightwish - The Siren album cover

Nightwish hit the jackpot with Once; an amazing album that still sounds great and is impossible to get tired of. The sales were also great and the band capitalizes on their success by releasing the third single based on the LP.
This one's got 3 different versions of the amazing The Siren; the edit version (probably for the radio), the album version and a live one. There are also two more live performances; a cover on Megadeth's Symphony of Destruction and Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan (I wrote the title by heart, how cool am I? Not that much probably.)
There's not much to say about the studio versions of The Siren. You've already listened to the album version if you...well... own the album and the edit version's got shorter solos and probably some of the vocals are missing too, can't say that I compared them second to second. The live version is just another document on the band's powerful on-stage performances.
Symphony of Destruction wasn't the best choice for a cover in my humble opinion; I think that Marco did a much better job in their W.A.S.P.'s Wild Child cover, his voice just doesn't fit right in this one. Still, not a bad tribute to one of the most influential metal bands ever. Much better than kORn's (excuse me if I didn't get the caps right) rape and massacre on Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall and yet this one gets a shitload of airplay. I just had to mention that in a review and this was a perfect chance.
Another live performance is the last track of this single. Kuolema Tekee Taiteilijan sounds even more beautiful than the album version, if that is possible.
If you are a Nightwish fanatic and you simply must own everything they have released, then get this one. If you are not and Once isn't part of your collection yet, then go to your local CD store and buy it, then perhaps you'll want to own this single as well.
