If you can pick a band from Germany, one that plays a genre that you already know deeply, you'll see that they have a difference. It's a feature of German Metal/Rock bands. And this same feature you'll find on "Turn Back Time", the new album from the quintet LIONCAGE. They're a classic Melodic Rock/AOR band that will find a place in the heart of fans from bands as JOURNEY, TOTO and others like them. It is elegant, strong and tender, with those charming and accessible melodies, those charming choruses and melodic outfit that we all are used to know. But although this genre is nothing new at all, they show personality, and how their musical energy can seduce our senses.

On the sound quality, it's just what anyone could expect from a Melodic Rock/AOR album: it's a clean sound, with all musical instruments appearing as they must, and with the right instrumental tunes to emphasize the band's melodic side. But it has a modern and aggressive little touch to make things even better. Yes, all was done in a level near the perfection, and it fits on what the band plays.

There are 12 very good songs on "Turn Back Time", and some of them have special guests, as Anya Mahnken (from BEYOND THE BLACK, UNHEILIG U.A.) on the vocals on "So Long Ago", Olaf Senkbeil (DREAMTIDE) on the vocals on "Turn Back Time", Neil Murray (the same one from WHITESNAKE, BLACK SABBATH, and others) playing bass guitar on "Heaven's Gate", and Joe Castellini on guitar on "Comfort Me". And let me tell you: if "Heaven's Gate" (an elegant song, with excellent melodies, backing vocals and choruses), the charming rhythm of "Black Water" (it's like a 80s AOR, with very good vocals), the heavy and aggressive touch given by guitars on "Comfort Me", the intense and deep feeling that permeates "Turn Back Time", the elegant Pop elements on the accessible "The Walls", "Dead Man Walk", and on "So Long Ago" (these three songs are amazing, with a good work from bass guitar and drums on each one of them, along with very good backing vocals) don't seduce you, maybe you're dead and forgot to lay to rest!

"Turn Back Time" is a great album, and LIONCAGE honors the German lineage of excellent Metal/Rock bands with it.
