Wow, what an honor to your Ol' Big Daddy here to review "Legion", the new album from one of most legendary bands from Brazil, the Thrash Metal gang from KORZUS.

Yes, they are a legend here since the 80's, and fighting against many difficulties throughout all these years and gathering new influences, causing the band musical work to evolve more and more, becoming one of the most active bands from the last 10 years here.

On "Legion", the very same formula used on "Discipline of Hate", but with some points harder and cohesive than before, especially in terms of tempos and the rhythmic session. And of course the music is more abrasive and heavier than before, as some modern aspects appears in the middle of aggressive voices (Pompeu really is singing in his best form here), strong and heavy guitar riffs and great solos (Heros and Antônio understand each other perfectly, creating an excellent guitar work), and the rhythmic basis is perfect, knowing to fuse a heavy and aggressive sound with very good technique (old Dick and Rodrigo are great in their playing). To resume: the band is aa step ahead of what they did on their previous album.

The sound quality is perfect, no doubt, with an abrasive and heavy sound (especially on guitars), but with all instruments and musical arrangements clear to our ears, and you can understand what they are playing with no difficulties. I really don't know who worked on "Legion" production, but I guess that Pompeu and Heros did it all on Mr. Som studios.

This album is too sharp and aggressive, so you better take care with the sound volume (it can make the walls of your wall tremble), especially if we are talking of songs like "Lifeline" (introduced by some strong riffs and tribal drums, then Hell comes to Earth in an explosion of a heavy and fast Thrash Metal onslaught, with excellent screamed harsh vocals and thundering guitars), the short and fast "Lamb" (here, bass and drums are showing a strong work, keeping the rhythm powerful and heavy), the abrasive and slower "Broken" (of course, this tempo makes the riffs appear a lot, but the drums are excellent as well), the perfect "Die Alone" (with great variations of tempos and chorus, and again the guitars are the highlight, with very good solos), the pogo incite called "Purgatory", the mass murder of "Bleeding Pride" (song of the first lyric video of the album, with some modern touches, but it will cause violent mosh pits on shows), and the long, abrasive and full of weight "Legion".

The quintet is extremely workaholic, and did another excellent album.
