Ok, you Ol' Big Daddy here is in a good mood when writing this review, it's almost nighttime, so I can really fell and understand what Romanian quartet DESCEND INTO DESPAIR is up to with their first Full Length, "The Bearer of All Storms".

They're doing Funeral Doom Metal (another annoying and disgusting label... Just hearing music is not enough?). It's the very same musical way from older MY DYING BRIDE, PARADISE LOST and ANATHEMA, from the time they used low grunts in vocals, nothing more. The same slow and funeral music, with depressive atmosphere, but the Romanians are really a very good band in what they propose themselves to do, even doing nothing new.

The production is somewhat poor to what they want to do, but do not damage the quartet's work to the point of we couldn't hear it in the proper way.

Their work is good, but the ones not used to so slow and introspective music must have some caution with this work, for the songs are very long and depressive.

Their finest moments are "Portrait of Rust", the introspective "Triangle" of Lies", "The Horrific Pale Awakening", and "Plânge Glia de Dorul Meu". But have in mind it's not an easy album to hear, due long duration of the tracks (only one of them is below 10 minutes!), so, be careful.

A good name, and really comes in a good time.
