2005's We Are Zan Clan...Who The Fuck Are You? was something more than a good glam Rock album. A fistful of dynamite tunes, this release established ZAN CLAN as one of the most kick-ass bands of the genre in our days. Now, Kickz The Livin' Shit...Outta Stockholm City!!! just confirms what kinda slaughterers these guys can also be on stage.
Swedish hero Zinny Zan (real name Bo Stagman) formed ZAN CLAN during 1994. His high-profile 'discog' deeds with bands like DREAM POLICE, SHOTGUM MESSIAH and EASY ACTION helped him to establish a good rollin' lineup that released the interesting Citizen Of Wasteland (1994, SMC) debut. Pontus Norgren (GREAT KING RAT, JEKYLL 'N' HYDE) plus the LION'S SHARE rhythm section of Eggy Egberg and Johan Koleberg stepped in for the recordings of  We Are Zan Clan...Who The Fuck Are You? - eleven whole years after the 1994 debut, woa! - and the result was more than first-rate!
Stormed from their support slots to some of WHITESNAKE's Swedish live dates, ZAN CLAN hit the stage for a live album that was recorded and produced by Chris Laney live at GlamFest (a tribute to the late Dave Lepard of CRASHDIET, who committed suicide earlier this year) at Klubben Stockholm City on Feb 11th, 2006 (along with bands like together with TIGERTAILZ, VAINS OF JENNA and LOUD 'N' NASTY). Kickz.... also features 2 brand new studio bonus tracks recorded in 2006 - featuring Ryan Roxie & Marcus Jidell - and a third bonus track - Starfukker - that was recorded during the We Are Zan Clan... sessions. The live setlist - on the other hand - is thunderous and sees ZAN CLAN going mad in rhythms. Don't Care 'Bout Nothin' comes off the days of SHOTGUN MESSIAH while - not to forget - the show is also scheduled to see a DVD release in the near future.
Norgren and Egberg left the band by the time the album hit the shelves - are there any replacements yet? - but, in any way, Kickz The Livin' Shit... Outta Stockholm City!!!'' features a pure sleazy Rock/Metal party (or - better - frenzy?) depicting clearly what a helluva dynamite ZAN CLAN can be in normal mode! A must for glam/sleaze Rock fans, this live cut marks a great performance by a reliable clan; you name it, you get it! HANOI ROCKS, some of MOTLEY CRUE an' RATT plus a good dose of CHEAP TRICK is what you'll get; who'd oppose?
