Yes - Like It is: At the Mesa Arts Center album cover

YES is a Progressive Rock band from London, United Kingdom, formed in 1968 by bassist Chris Squire and singer Jon Anderson. Their new, fresh release „Like It is - At the Mesa Arts Center"  is a record from a concert in Mesa Arts Center in Arizona, from 12th August 2014. Here, they present the essence of two albums - "Close To The Edge" from 1972 and „Fragile" from 1971.

First track "Close To The Edge" lasts over 20 minutes and it is a journey into depth of fabulous and abstract voice of vocalist. Keys and guitars played in Progressive Rock style, in excellent way making a chilling atmosphere. Long, well build track, with church organs that come after gorgeous keys solo. "And You And I" is so climatic song with relaxing music and excellent guitars

From second CD, I like melodic "Roundabout", and great played "We Have Heaven" with beautiful choir. "South Side Of The Sky" is a melodic travelin to the Neverland... Surely, great preposition for everyone who needs a calmer piece to sit back and enjoy after hard day at work. Fantastic keys feature in great "Cans And Brahms" and worth to mention is that this is an instrumental. Generally, hearable thing you all will notice is that guys play their music in the same style they used to, without any modern elements, but in the same awesome way as before many years.

New concert album of legendary Progressive Rockers will definitely find its great position in fan's collection. For me, music made by YES is too much boring and too much schematic. It was a nice listen. Being such a legend as they are, having a concert, interacting with their fans and seeing how public is happy, a cool thing indeed.

A necessary must-have for a YES fan!
