Adrenaline Rush
Wicked Sensation

The career of WICKED SENSATION and the rocky road for its mastermind/Guitarist Michael Klein was and still is convoluted. Since the very first release back in 2001 titled "Reflected" (MTM Music) to this "Adrenaline Rush", actually the fourth album of this band/Project from Karlsruhe, that was always and constantly in the middle of a lot of business complications and cumulated bad luck.
Once again while starting the "Adrenaline Rush" recording with Dennis ward, the band was forced to find a temporary replacement to fill for Robert Soeterboek (STAR ONE / THOMSEN). In fact their talented singer was unfortunately diagnosed with a cyst on his vocal cords with surgery (plus accordingly many months of recovery) as only valid option.
WICKED SENSATION had to find the right vocalist with the skills and most of all, the same passion. The right mandatory spirit in order to perform the new songs that Michael Klein and Robert Soeterboek had already written.
Indeed originally this "Adrenaline Rush" was set and programmed to be the big return on the forefront for this band, the definitive confirmation after their critically acclaimed "Crystallized" in 2010 (AOR Heaven).
They received a positive offer from American veteran David Reece from ACCEPT fame and exBANGALORE CHOIR/ exTANGO DOWN and still frontman for EZ LIVIN, in my mind one of the best substitute for duplicate the Robert Soeterboek typical testosterone hailing and soulful thick voice. He was also helped in his difficult task by Jan Knopf (OCEAN BED) for "Blue Painted Sky" and by the mighty Harry Hess (HAREM SCAREM) in the backing vocal harmonies thru the groovy track "Same Old Situation" or "Angel In Black", and also in the opener "King of the World".
After the release of TANGO DOWN's "Charming Devil" last month, this is another proof of the obvious vocal class that possess the seasoned Mr Reece ("Angel In Black").
Concerning the intrinsic quality of the album, if the core is Euro Melodic Metal, strangely the result is yet a little disappointing. It leaves an overall mixed feeling, a weird perception, a duality between the perfect crafted item and a frustration created by maybe an unrisky direction and growing in an 'already heard a million times' impression.
Certainly not a bad album, it has its moments with "Blue Painted Sky" and its positive vibes or the more adventurous cuts as "Misery" or the heavy colors of the title track, standing as the most convincing compositions.
