Watertank - Sleepwalk album cover

WATERTANK is a weird blended mixture of Noise / Doom / Post-Hardcore / Stoner Metal band from Nantes, France. Formed in the beginning of the last decade, the band released a demo named "Sub" in 2004, EP "Fairy Crimes" in 2009 and ten years after their arrival, finally a full length, "Sleepwalk".

"Six Days" is a pretty impressive song, kind of a modern Rock meets Metal, great bass line and drumming with a similarity to TOOL. The singing is rather melodic and channeling a good vibe. "Sleepwalk" is a one weird number, Doomish affiliation with Nu Metal and Grunge with nice riffing, think about mixing DEFTONES, FOO FIGHTERS and TOOL. "Giant Heads" is characterized has an upbeat rhythms, several indications of FOO FIGHTERS with composite riffing. Additional tracks worth listening: "Ants In Suits" is somewhat stony, more or less diverse, sharing grounds with STONE TEMPLE PILOTS and ALICE IN CHAINS. "Sharp Beaks Strike Back" is solid, a few ample riffs. "Where It All Begins" is a fine Stoner Metal outcome. "Pro Cooks" kick ass and pretty melodic. "Fear Over The City" is a nice example of Noise. "Far From Low" snuffing the Punk with a little edge of Rock, same goes to "How Fast".

WATERTANK has created an impressive foundation of modern Rock / Metal music, the cross breeding with Hardcore is neat, with a potential to become greater. "Sleepwalk" is a solid piece, good for a debut. There is a lot for everyone, both Metalheads, Punk moshers and Hardcore addicts.
