This is the review for the debut album "Welcome To My Void" by the German melodic Metalcore band WATCH THEM FADE...Formed in 2011 when bass player Marc and guitarist Jürgen formed the core of this band, but the the final and current line-up was completed in early 2013 when singer Christoph and drummer Daniel completed the young team of WATCH THEM FADE.

In autumn of the same year they started working on the debut album with the helpful guidance of Alex Adelhardt at Ghost City Recordings who produced, recorded and mixed "Welcome To My Void" The final mastering operation was handled by Will Putney (THE AMITY AFFLICTION / NORTHLANE / BURY TOMORROW / MISS MAY I / FOR TODAY) at The Machine Shop (USA)...The sonic design is flawless but their music is stuck in an absolute standard fare in their stylistic area and their sound is unfortunately heard several times...

The songs are hyper formulaic and full of clichés, but worst of all most, the banal breakdowns are wasted by an ultra previsible and a repetitive method...No surprise: welcome to boredom after two tracks at maximum it become hard to stay focused!

For a first work, it's by no means bad, but not all great even if I detect the fact that the potential is definitely there, but I believe the guys aren't mature enough for the high step of the first album...The main problem is that the songwriting seems to be overshadowed by the constant MetalCore gimmicks and electronic tricks, at the expense of the interest of the track itself...When they try something new or more original it falls flat, the choir vocals in "Horizon" or in "Tread Your Path" are awkward or wonky to say the least...While singer Christoph Aggou always has a good shout-voice, his rare Melodic attempts are very weak and yet it's precisely the lack of variation that reduces the whole impact.

Their evolution will be the key fact for them, in order to watch the band rise or fade...<
