Vital Remains - Icons Of Evil album cover

Holy fuck! Releasing their satanic invocation from Rhode Island death metal masters VITAL REMAINS spill our brains our with their so much anticipated after their unique Dechristianize CD, sixth album  called  Icons Of Evil . Can you ever imagine that this pure unholy album came out almost about at Easter time?

What you get here sounds like another soundtrack of the apocalypse painted by those Floridian maniacs. Where shall we start from? Benton's inhuman double tracked vocals, the totally anti-Christian lyrics, hate aggression ultrasonic speeds - in fact everything that makes hell break loose! Extreme Death fucking Metal cool blasphemous and dangerous!

If you liked  Dechristianize , by all means you will hately adore  Icons Of Evil . It is not that good as the previous one but the band's integrity remains at high speed death metal level. To tell you the truth from one point and one the speed of the drumming is so intense that the average inexperienced death metal ear will get tired! The drumming technique is really extraordinary as well as his backing vocals plus the innovative and hellish entire lead guitar work.

If you ever had any second thoughts about Benton believes in general then here you will have those doubts melt right before your eyes! In addition the production of Erik Rutan (EX-MORBID ANGEL/HATE ETERNAL)   is really tight and it burns like a satanic blaze over your helpless neck.

To sum it up - there is absolutely not even one chance out of one million that you will not like this album especially if you are into the death metal cult. It may not full meet the high standards set by the band's previous album Dechristianize but will fill your heart with anger for a lot time, until the band will strike again of course! Apart from all these what you get here is a cover of Yngwie J. Malmsteen's Disciples Of Hell (From his glorious Marching Out  album) which I personally found terrific - even though uncle Yngwie may not really approve of uncle Glen's vocal line!

Highlights of this album can be considered - amongst the other - the following ones:  Where Is Your God Now, Icons Of Evil, Reborn... The Upheaval of Nihility, Hammer Down The Nails  and  Disciples Of Hell .
