Visits From The NightHag Part 1
The Projectionist

Originally started as a side project by Lörd Matzigkeitus, it became his main band when he left IDOLATRY. This is the bands third full-length album, along with 2016's "Poisonous Disengagement" and 2017's "Exalted Solitude". Releasing an album a year, along with a few EP's and Splits in between, continues making their back catalogue expand very well in such a small amount of time.
"Paralysis of Subconscious Toxins" has the mixture in sound of Atmospheric Black Metal and Funeral Doom. The vocals created are so coarse that it unclear to follow all the words, with a vocal idea that sounds like its trying too hard to be Black Metal, with some unusual sounds in the background added in for no real reason. The melody and beat themselves are good. Steady enough to keep ticking over well, but it seems almost too fast and heavy for how the vocals are working.
"A Saw to Dissolve All Travel" has an eerie intro, adding a new depth to the sound created. It goes on until the beat picks up at the 80 second mark, where it kicks the song into the next gear as before, but as before the vocals remain unclear enough to follow; they do however seem to have sped up, holding onto the melody better. The whole pace slows down after the 1st quarter of the song, going back to the previous ideas of the album.
"Dementia's Wheel Strapped, and Taken to Adjacent Halls" has an intro more themed towards ABSU than we have heard from their own, the guitars showing off more technical skills. The vocals are more short outbursts and it actually helps to take the song into a new light; the slow screams remain in the background but not taking up all the song helps. The screams need to be kept up to pace with the song, and through this album, they just don't. The vocals let down the overall sound and pace of the album in my views. The pace of the instruments is very good, fluid and powerful.<
