The Grand Trick Is described as a "heavy rock band" in their biography page. This album sounds like it was recorded in 1969. It has the old Hammond Organ and terrible production values that reminds you of that era. The sound is very cheap. If they were going for vintage, they went too far. This kind of music has been out forever. DEEP PURPLE created this sound and got better as time went on. THE GRAND TRICK's style is decades late. The vocals are bad as well. The vocalist has a raspy voice that is irritating and crass. I feel like I turned on an oldies radio station that was playing "deep cuts", In other words, songs that weren't hits. Most of the songs all sound the same. If you don't like the first track, it is most likely you won't like the rest of it either. I never really got into old bands too much, so you have to keep that in mind. I never liked anything about the 60's, and out of all the things I disliked about that era the music is what I disliked the most. Take that for what it is.

I don't know why anyone would want to own this record. It is possible that there are people out there that like really old sounding music. I can't believe the ages of the guys in this band. I would have guessed they were all around 60 years old, but it isn't the case. I guess they just thought they would try to sound old fashioned and not go with any trends. There are a couple of songs where vocalist Robert Cunningham tries his best sound like Lemmy Kilmister, and he does. Why anyone would want to sound like Lemmy is well beyond me (laughs). Lemmy is one of a kind, and there is a good reason for that. I know I know, he's a sacred cow and everybody loves him, I do too, but this isn't MOTORHEAD. There's no energy and magic to make up for the terrible vocals. I will have to pass on this one. I advise anyone that reads this to do the same.
