The Amenta - Occasus album cover

Well , this Australian band named The Amenta was formed in 2000 from the ashes of Sydney Death/Black Metal bands. In 2002 The Amenta recorded their first mini CD entitled Mictlan featuring 4 tracks of technical playing Death/Black Metal. In 2004 the band recorded their debut album entitled Occasus.
This is the first time that I listen to The Amenta's music and it's kind of weird. Their style is Belphegor-aggresive and speedy mixed with new Behemoth riffs and atmosphere. Ultra fast Death/Black with perfect drumming (I hope that it's real drumming and not some drum machine) combined with weird, unorthodox riffs blended within the songs, which demands you to stay alert all the time. Okay, it's a good album, they will be famous in the underground scene but mostly for the Death Metal fans rather than the Black Metal freaks. I think that this album is pretty hard sounding; not the production but music-wise hard. Because they mix Scandinavian Death Metal with European Black Metal. .Nothing more to say about this CD other than the fact that surely its one of the best that has ever been recorded in this sound and style.
