Undead. Unholy. Divine
Thanatos

It seems that our era is fully dominated by bands reunited or by those that suddenly come back after years of artistic absence. Especially in the field of extreme metal, there weren't just a few cases of unanticipated returns, regardless to the aftermath.
Thanatos is a quite historic Death Metal band...uhm, ok that's what most of you already know. The fact that it is Netherlands' premier one in the specific genre, is rather mentioned for encyclopedic reasons rather than a credit.
Before their comeback in 2000 with Angelic Encounters, they had released 2 albums in the early 90's and gathered attention in the underground circuit but they met some serious management trouble so they were disbanded in a rather inglorious way.
Quite recently, in 2002, they released an EP and now, 2 years later, they deliver their 4th full length album with the hope of apperception and institution.
Unfortunately, I can't say that I'm impressed by Undead. Unholy. Divine and I don't think that most of you out there will. It's not like there is something terribly wrong about it, I'd say that it's rather an indifferent album that has nothing special to offer. Of course it has its fine moments and songs like Lambs to the Slaughter, Eraser and Beyond Terror will keep your neck occupied for a while, but overall the album fluctuates from mediocre to a simply good level.
Competition in our days is inexorable and no extra chance is given to anyone. That's a general rule that stands also in the music business. It seems as Thanatos should had never given up, many things have changed since their first recordings and to be frank they don't seem to get along with today's standards and requirements.
