Atomzeitalter
Starless Aeon
2 years after their 4-track demo debut effort "Silence", Germany's STARLESS AEON returns to the spotlight with their follow-up "Atomzeitalter"; a 5-track Black/Death/Thrash (Blackened Death-Thrash?) vanguard force to be reckoned with and that no Extreme Metal collector should miss to add to their collection.
The opening track "Facies Hippocratia" is nothing but a 1 minute atmospheric introductory track leading into the first real song, "Jack Frost". Already I can sense the insane fusion of Black Metal and Death Metal guitars from Svenom and Sebastian. The riffs alone selling points to any headbanger! Add to the formula some typical, yet excellent, Death Metal vocals from Mo, some atmospheric touches, and an extra dose of power from Mu's bass, and you've got yourself a pounding track.
"Invisible Enemy" is similar but immediately recognizably Thrashier; building up some epic hype as it progresses into its middle part, before slowing down to bring down the destructive powers of the combined growls of Svenom and Mo. "Mindless" exposes some fine grooves and insane but thrashing riffs; an epic, headbanging, fist-pounding worthy track if anything. Concluding the album is the title track "Atomzeitalter"; a short but sweet Black Metal sendoff. Nothing more, nothing less.
To the best of my ability; I have given you an imaginary taste of what's in store: "Atomzeitalter" is deadly short but also deadly effective, and it will leave you wanting more from this promising act. If you can locate yourself anywhere on the extremer scale of Metal, check this one out!
