The Return Of King Sonic

The Return of the King is Spoiler's second album. This Dutch band is back after 4 years with a musically different album, (the differences are not so big). The band's music style has been changed. I mean in this album you will not find all those Stoner influences which were obvious in their last album. Here it has been turned into Heavy, Hard Rock music without some Stoner Rock or Rock 'N' Roll plus the 70's feeling is missing. Also, the spirit of Soundgarden is alive in this album too.
The old Ac/Dc Hard Rock feeling is alive in a lot of the songs, like El Hector, Dirty Black Shades and also the melodies are quite obvious in songs like Caught. In this album there are songs which greatly contain both of those elements, the Hard Rock style together with melody like in Left In Dust, Car Keys, Geddon Manny's. The only exception is the song Respect; an acoustic-guitar ballad, done in the 70's vein.
All the songs wouldn't have been really great performance if it wasn't for the great production which gives the songs a more than Hard Rock feeling. This album will make you press the repeat button again and again.
