This is the debut album from this independent American Thrash/Black Metal band.
The first song is ''Bow Down to Death''. It sounds like old school Thrash Metal. It has awesome production as well, I was quite surprised about this. The vocals are harsh, a mix between Black and Death Metal. The vocalist reminded me of Alexi Laiho from CHILDREN OF BODOM.
The second song is ''At the Sixth Foot''. You can hear someone digging a grave in the background with some crows alongside. This sounded straight out of Gothenburg, very reminiscent of bands like IN FLAMES and DARK TRANQUILLITY.
The third song is ''MPFF''. For all of you curious fellows, it means : Metal Punk Fight Fuck! This sounded like some good old DESTRUCTION, heavy riffs and a really nice old school vibe.
The fourth song is ''Whatever Demons''. This sounded like late nineties THE HAUNTED. It has some really solid Bass work and like I mentioned beforehand, the production is top notch. I really like the message they had on this one. It says not to judge people because everyone has demons and you don't judge a book by it's cover.
The fifth song is ''Eternal Lies''. I felt the drums really sounded wonky on this one to be perfectly honest. The song reminded me of early DIMMU BORGIR, especially the orchestral arrangements and the overall feeling of the song itself.
The sixth song is ''She's Insane''. Well the message is pretty clear! We have a French Canadian expression that says every woman is insane so I thought this was pretty clever. It's another song that reminded me of a mix between CHILDREN OF BODOM and IN FLAMES. It's a bit slower than these two bands but you hear their influence on this song.
The seventh song is ''Forever Awake''. The beginning of the song reminded me a lot of AMON AMARTH. The riffs may be less powerful than the Metal Giants. You got some wicked guitar solos on this as well. Probably my favorite song of the album.
A lot of good stuff on this album, the production is awesome and the band reminded me of a lot of good Metal that we had in the late nineties and early 2000s. A pleasant surprise.
