Thrash Metal, probably my favourite genre in Metal. The album "Worship The Devil" collides with the Black Metal realm of vocals and introduces Blackened Thrash Metal, a very nice touch for fans of Metal of all genres.
It begins with "Written In Blood" an eerie introduction and then the destruction begins (as expected) with a pounding Thrashtastic sound with a hint of Black Metal. Greatness. The horns should already be up.
Groovy, heavy thrash sounds just kept me headbanging throughout. It sounds very fresh and full of energy, combining the sounds of Black, Death and Thrash all in one package. Metal fans would be foolish to pass this up.
SATHANAS were born in the 80s and should be more known in my opinion. Clearly the band are anti-religious or just anti-Christian as you can see within the title descriptions, with reason too. "Satan's Cross" and "Oath Of Witchery" explain that. Killer riffs and pounding drums included, hells yes.
The theme to me sounds like something from an apocalypse destroying mankind itself. "Marked By The Beast", "Upon The Age Of Darkness" and "In Death's Name We Pray" elaborate that well of course. This album is just great so far. I'd most certainly love to see them Live one day. If you're fans of WATAIN, SLAYER, VENOM, CANNIBAL CORPSE, NILE, OVERKILL etc, (come on, what Metal fan aren't?) then this is definitely up your alley.
The intensity this album delivers leaves me wanting more so it can be easily repeated; I already have done this a good few times already. I'm hooked; I expect my neck to ache soon. Not much more I can add but in conclusion it has explosive screaming riffs, Black Metal vocals (and guitars) with a hint of growl, Death Metal theme soundings combined with Black Metal, they should open for bands like SLAYER definitely. Imagine that.
A CD worthy to be in anyone's collection.
