Doom / Death Metal is Among the most charismatic Metal genres with melodic and very atmospheric parts, all by keeping a good dose of progressivity and complexity in the writing process. On this basis the Italian band RAVING SEASON was formed in 2005 after a meeting of the two singers Judith & Frederica with the guitarist Sergio. After completing the lineup, their efforts were rewarded with a first EP in 2009, but the greatest reward is that they were contacted by the label My Kingdom Music to finally release "Amnio" their first full length album.

RAVING SEASON style of music is not limited in Doom / Death Metal only, in fact it is an expansion of several musical universes between Symphonic, Gothic and I noticed even some influences from the psychedelic music that appears in the electronic sections. A combination of sounds that finally gave a very dark atmosphere, melancholic, but very mild at the same time with melodies generously distributed throughout the songs, I appoint for example tracks like "My Last Murderer", "Silent Lake" or "My Darkest Season (pt 2)".

The female duo that supports the responsibility of the singing is a strong point. Between Judith that ensures clear voices and even the Sopranos and Frederica who does not hesitate to produce growling vocals, there are great harmonies. The sharing of roles is measured in millimeter all taking into account the transmitted messages in the lyrics, but also respecting the switch between quiet and melancholic parts. There are even sections that both voices dissolve together as in the song "Testament".

And which played an important role in this charismatic album, is the heavy riffs of the two guitarists Sergio and Marco S contained especially in the song "Suspended In A spiral" giving an atmosphere that will certainly please the fans of MY DYING BRIDE. The arrangements are also a strong point, thanks to the non-compliance of the traditional verse-chorus concept; the majority of the songs are really well conceived and developed. It remains to mention that the last track "Amnio", still pushes the limits by giving a very electric atmosphere full of softness that comes out of Metal, but keeping the main musical elements that characterizes RAVING SEASON.

A very intense album, sentimental and dark at the same time, just put the Italians in the front. Knowing that this is their first album, this opus may merge fans of several musical genres.
