Metal maniacs, rejoice! The Thrasher returns to present to you: RAVENCULT; signed via the mighty Metal Blade Records, hailing from Greece - performing Black Metal, on their 3^rd album entitled "Force Of Profanation".

Since formation in 2001; the quintet in question have 2 albums behind them. I'm acquainted with their 3^rd - "Force Of Profanation" (released on November 11^th, 2016). RAVENCULT perform ear-splitting, typical Black Metal...simple as that. Not quite as simple as that however; as while Black Metal usually immerses for a blackening, extreme sense of atmosphere...this here quartet embody the extreme sub-genres from Black, Thrash and Death into one neat package. There are distinct sub-genres that unify all these elements of Metal that some fall to the wayside with their over-produced progressiveness...while most of the time, this isn't precedent in the world of Black Metal...and with the band in question; they deliver a fine slab of solidified Metal in which uses the intention to just simply blow your mind with all intents and purposes in a typically extreme construct. From what I've listened to; it's safe to say that this is a record that's not for the faint of heart.

Consisting of Alex on vocals that showcase complex vicarious cords that just define extremity in every way. Stef on guitars has a wide arrange of dexterity at his disposal in which proficiently portraits exquisite songwriting adaptively; showcasing a memorable production evidently. Similarly found with the pummeling powerhouse from Kostas on bass and JV on drums destroys with sufficient flair for a utmost unique listen. "Force Of Profanation" is 8 tracks long ranging at around 32:52...it's a short yet sweet listen, however - easily repeated quite extensively and that's the beauty of half hour long albums. In similar vain of SLAYER's "Reign In Blood", DEPRAVED PLAGUE's "Containment" & HOSTILE's "New World Disorder" ...these records continue to be some of the best Extreme Metal has to offer and showcase captivating efficiency, and RAVENCULT deliver a similar experience.

"Tormentor Of Flesh", "In Macabre Triumph" & "Beneath The Relics Of Old" open up the album leaving you with an intense sound production that showcases a solidified and scrupulously developed compositions of gritty; violent thrash in a similar form to that of the mighty DESTROYER 666. This makes for a memorable and unique listen and consistently balances the aforementioned sub-genres nicely. "Merciless Reprisal", "Into Depths" & "Doom Oracle" compile more adversity with hidden elements of a hardcore distinctive. Without a doubt; the atmospheric nature of Black Metal was there, yet the instrumentation fused kind of distinguishes that only to sound more raw intentionally. "Altar Of Impurity" & "Temple Of The Void" conclude the record leaving you wanting more; I easily repeated this one and has an immense blast with it. Certainly one to look out for.<
