Formed in 2008 in DETROIT, USA by guitarist J Frezzato, vocalist Masha Marjieh, Matt O'Brien, Chuck Burns, and Adam Cox (keyboards), OCTOPUS is a quite versatile and a  multi-talented rock band that will for sure get attention by many after signing with Lee Dorrian's Rise Above Records. Having a look at the covert art, it feels like Boris Vallejo painting Mongolian Warriors dealing with an ancient strong desert demon.Oh wait It is Bruce Pennington's work.I need to check that guy.

"Beyond The center" is BLACK SABBATH riffed and Masha's voice is overwhelming.The keyboards are very energetic and moving, while guitars are entwined with organs. Wow, what a great surprise! We have very  strong music here. This song feels like another similar band on Rise Above Record that is now inactive  called THE OATH. "Supernatural alliance," the title song, has a sing along chorus that occupied my mind for like the last week , whistling it or singing it at work. Very nice song."Slave and master" feels like DEEP PURPLE at times and its quite interesting. "Strike (While the Iron Is Hot)" is quite different with his glam rock approach. "Child of Destiny (Inaugural Trilogy, Part 3)" is a great Sci-Fi fantasy song using Adam Cox's mastermind skills to get us traveling in outer space.

After that we have a great dose of Epic Doom Metal with "The unknown" that could be written be SOLITUDE AETERNUS n the "Adagio" era. Quite an excellent song. The riffs are  majestic and the organ adds an amazing feel to it. Headbanging is guaranteed. I can't help myself thinking about ALUNAH while listening to Masha singing. This woman is the gem of this work. They wouldn't be the same without her. This album is very diversified, they played together many years before having this baby recorded. All i can say is that i don't want to wait that long for another piece of their art and i really want to see them live in the future, they must shake the hell out of town! You have a new fan here! Out on March 30, this stunning offering deserves a major success, a long life and a place in your Psych doom stoner rock personal section. Go GET IT, NOW.
