Nile - Ithyphallic album cover

I don't think there is a need for an introduction here. I will start this review saying that with every album NILE unleash the shock becomes bigger and bigger.
With the introduction of What Can Be Safely Written we are sinking for another time into the exocosmic, mysterious East. Fast drums, nice riffs and ultra complication. Later there is a calm and the solo proclaims a unique feel. We continue with As He Creates, So He Destroys. Chaos. Mayhem. A very intense song with incredible riffs. It's clear that NILE has become more mature. This song, despite the fact that is chaotic, can stuck straight to your mind and heart. It is perfect till its last details. The work that the band has done is obvious. It also has a live refrain, witch will work perfect for their gigs.
Let's go to Ithyphallic. The first riff is hellish. It has very good structure and power. NILE now hit to the bone. Papyrus... (what a title!) is a very, very fast song. It is also 'live friendly'. Then the sky will be transformed in dark dust. Why? Well, because of the coming of Eat Of The Dead. Probably the best song for me. They had written of course slow songs before but this is something from another planet. From the third minute and after the logic escapes beyond any fragments. In the end you feel the breath of death. Death Metal in the real meaning of the word.
Laying Fire... and The essential... are also great. How the fuck can NILE write these songs? All riffs destroy everything. After The Infinity Of Stone - which is a classic instrumental NILE song - comes The Language Of The Shadows, which...guess? It's as good as the others. The holocaust ends with Even The Gods Must Die. A slow-tempo atmospheric song with a dramatic, narrative and sad tone. I  want to listen to it live NOW. As the song fades, you will find a solo that will travel your mind somewhere else.
The guitars, vocals, drums and everything is perfect and well-played. If they continue with this rate I don't know what the result will be! Definitely NILE have writen a big chapter in Death Metal history and especially  Ithyphallic is a jewel that honors this genre. Well, my friends, there are - until now - three 2007's albums you must listen to if you are a Death Metal freak. IMMOLATION ,ENTOMBED and this one.
