Nahui - Around The Shadows - DEMO album cover

Most people who know me also know that I am not a fan of one man bands. I really don't know why that is but it's a fact. From the moment I realized that Nahui is a one man act I prepared my stainless steel shovel. However I didn't manage to use it because the material in Around The Shadows was too damn good!
Luca Giancotti was involved in several projects since 1992 (bands like Die, Twisted Shape...). In 2000 he decided to work solo under the name Nahui (hey, what does it means?). His song Tidal Wave was included in the Escape From The Ghetto Vol. 1 compilation. Around The Shadows is his debut EP attempt, a home recording that can be considered to be really interesting.
The music of Around The Shadows can be described as modern Rock. Now, when I say modern Rock I don't mean Grunge or something like that. The music here sounds quite open minded: might bring in mind bands like Faith No More. It is groovy, not too fast or flashy. Though this is a home recording the sound is exceptional (OK, the drums could have sounded better) and there is a very warm feeling in here that embraces the listener. A funny thing happened while listening to the album: I caught myself doing absolutely nothing else but concentrating on the music. This doesn't happen often you know. Somehow Nahui's music had a calm effect on me!
Luca Giancotti, I don't know if you're reading these lines, man, but your music rocks! Keep up the good work! Open minded listeners check this one out!
