At last the new album of the Finnish Viking Metallers is in my hands. I have been long expecting for it and now I know that it was worth all the expectation. Moonsorrow are back and the name of their glorious album is Verisakeet!
Verisakeet is a glorious and majestic album full of an epic and folklore atmosphere. The Viking Metal that Moonsorrow play is very dark and epic. Their music has many folklore touches and Nordic melodies. The songs on this album are very good. When someone listens to this album, he can feel all the emotions that Moonsorrow try to express through it. He can see the dark Finnish forests and the blue lakes; he can feel the cold breeze coming down from of the snowy mountains.
All the songs are very good compositions. The guitars launch the dark and epic atmosphere and the keyboards assist them very well at this work. Moreover the guitars are heavy and they express the wrath and rage that they want to unleash. The drums and the bass make a good and solid backbone and the distorted vocals are quite good too.
The lyrics are, as always, in Finnish and I think that this is a quite interesting fact. Of course I do not understand them but the Finnish language sounds very beautiful to my ears. So I do not have any problem with that. In fact I prefer it.
Overall Verisakeet is a very good album and all the people that listen to Viking Metal or Swedish Death Metal should go buy it. I also propose this album to everyone else. Listen to it at least one time. Many of you will like it.
If you expect me to say which songs are the highlights I must tell you that all the songs on this album are highlights. They are great songs and I cannot say that some are better than the others.
