Money Shot
Midnight Circus

When circus comes to town, then pleasure is obvious for the young; and the young at heart. Add the 'midnight' extension, multiply by tons of booze and tattooz, divide by twelve 'philthy' cuts and read the total. Money Shot just offered you the availability of possessing the perfect soundtrack for your evening - or midnight? - party. Welcome, I bid you welcome...
This Houston, Texas, USA gang releases its debut album and everything looks familiar for them. Rooted in the early 90s, Ex-FEARLESS LEADER/NAKED ZOO frontman Rob Howl - he is, indeed - gave birth to MIDNIGHT CIRCUS, while - as we can see - there were more than 13 years that passed us by till this debut craft saw the light of day. Gregg Gill has - as I read - credits with bands like Z-LOTS-Z (coooool name!) and DISTANT THUNDER (the DISTANT THUNDER? Woah!). Reading all names in capitals it may not be difficult to draw your conclusions regarding the band's style, right?
Melodic Sleaze Hard Rock; indeed, that is the 'sum'. In the vain of 80s bands like (the melodic moments of) MOTLEY CRUE, CIRCUS OF POWER, VAIN, POISON and (some of) LILLIAN AXE, Money Shot offers joyful moments for a dirty-yet-harmonic sleazin' rockin' audition. Rob Howl imitates Vince Neil's lines at times, but has the cleverness - and personality - to do his own 'thing' in general. The groove is typical - mostly mid-tempo - while the guitar parts (both rhythm and leads) are of trust, keeping mostly up to 'silly' happiness. Some little thinking may someone have 'bout the band's will to sound like a mix of 'cheerful' PEARL JAM and GREENDAY but - as pre-said - the thinking may as well be little.
If Money Shot was a late 80s release; then the possibilities for good fame would be high enough. Thus, for our era's needs, just you - the Sleaze Rock lovers - can show some interest. And you certainly have to, since MIDNIGHT CIRCUS released a very good album. Kicked in the teeth, while drinking beerz...
