Magnet - Feel Your Fire album cover

MAGNET an Italian based band, located in the city that gave birth to renaissance itself, deliver Feel your Fire, a debut album that seems to fit perfectly for a time of renewal for a genre that wallows right between the trenches of the eternal war between what some consider soft and hard Rock. A work worthy of recognition for the ingenious implications it has and the importance of depicting this sound with today's resources to the newer generations.

It's truly comforting to find visionaries of music such as Riccardo Giuffrè, and as a reviewer of his other band PSYCHEDELIC WITCHCRAFT I found the experience of listening to Feel your Fire, metaphysical and the strong connection and compromise that comes as an outcome of what it might mean to have the opposite of a creative block, the driving force behind this band, a flow of ideas strong and constant enough to give endlessly, fulfilling in my opinion the true concept of what it means to be an artist. Abandoned to this exceptional condition, Riccardo Giuffrè takes over six string duties as well as the lead vocals to deliver another work of great inventive; bound to the spirit of names carved in the Wall of Rock and Roll history and with a nothing to lose attitude this record appears to come from the same forge as his inspirations did.

Aside from "Magnet Caravan" a well stylized and precisely produced tribute to Black Sabbath's most recognized songs, "Little Moon" the longest track on this album caught my attention powerfully, as a thoroughly concreted tune that creates an imaginary threshold to a less complicated time when sound was sound and music was feeling, aside from any coverings or Pro-Tools layers added. Carriers of flames in tradition have harsh journeys towards recognition, but this just might not be the case for MAGNET, my only complaint being the presence of a proper oficial website, Riccardo Giuffrè and the rest of this talented band have everything to be successful in the future and the willpower to maintain and enhance this passion for music in its different forms and features.
