Lordi - The Monster Show album cover

After receiving a few promos through the post, one in particular stood out from the rest, although I have to openly admit I have never heard of Lordi so I was curious as what to expect. I always look forward to listening to an album from an artist I have never listened to before as you really do not know what to expect. The first thing I noticed about Lordi was the image they carry; very Gwar influenced I think and not really being a big fan of Gwar I was quite apprehensive about what Lordi would sound like.
I was instantly impressed with the opening intro Threatrical Trailer and the way it flowed into the opening track on this compilation. With Bring It On Lordi rips into the line... Hello I am me, who the hell are you?. It was the start of something I wish I had discovered a long time ago. I started to think why I had not come across Lordi before.  Blood Red Sandman, probably one of  the strongest songs on here alongside Would You Love A Monsterman, both are songs I would love to hear Lordi play live. You can just imagine them as crowd favourites, you know when you hear a song maybe once or twice and it just sticks in your head and before you know it you're singing it without realising it? Well, Would You Love A Monsterman is it!!
Icon Of Dominance is a wicked, haunting track that has everything, a big chorus and growling verse. Wake The Snake was initially a b-side on the 2004 single My Heaven Is Your Hell. Both are featured on here and are an excellent addition to the album.
There is also a bonus DVD featuring three promo videos. Blood Red Sandman, The Devil Is A Loser and Would You Love A Monsterman all of which are awesome videos. The one that stands out the most has to be Blood Red Sandman; it's almost a mini movie and very cleverly done it is too. I was instantly captivated by the cleverness and intelligence of the entire production. Music videos do not come cheap and this whole package looks like a million dollars!!!
