Does this name sound winsome to you? If you are expecting some all-female band with hot chicks then you might get disillusioned by what the band actually looks and sounds like. "Forestelevision", the band's 3rd full-length album, is a one-super-long track album in the same vein of GREEN CARNATION's "Light of Day, Day of Darkness" running over nearly 45 minutes. LESBIAN fans are quite familiar with these kind of super-long tracks though, given the band's two previous albums that contain tracks of over 20 minutes.
It is absolutely useless to try to confine "Forestelevision" within a certain subgenre since LESBIAN managed to blend together a myriad of different elements and styles seamlessly. Obviously very experimental, at first it starts heavy and Doomish then it gets blackened and later on it turns progressive while still keeping an epic and somewhat "classic" sound. The atmosphere is huge with a vibe of Stoner Rock s and a never-ending journey-like feeling. All kinds of vocals can be heard on this track as well, from Black Metal shrieks to clean vocals and even choirs.
So, you guys might have been disappointed by the band's irrelevance to its appealing name, but you would certainly be happy about the music if you're into this stuff. The band also offers a very unique visual aspect which I really appreciated (which is even more irrelevant by the way).
