Karmacode
Lacuna Coil

Well, what do you know? I am pretty sure that none of us ever really expected Lacuna Coil to reach that far and become as popular as they are the last couple years. I wonder where all these reporters are now, who one criticize this band and dubbed them as a BAD imitation of Theater Of Tragedy. I guess numbers prove them wrong!
From the first spins of Karmacode it is rather obvious that the band puts the money where their luck stands: U.S.A. The sound is totally U.S. oriented with the guitars low tuned, bringing in mind several successful acts from the other side of the ocean. I don't really have a problem with that but I somehow felt more comfortable with the tuning of Comalies. Anyway the songs on the other hand have the same usual craft; what draw my attention was the vocals of Andrea Ferro, who I strongly believe that he delivers his best performance up till today. Cristina Scabbia is excellent, as usual, in what she does.
The first three songs ca easily become hits (Our Truth has already succeeded in that). There is also an AMAZING version of Enjoy The Silence (Depeche Mode). The production once again fits like a glove (and probably is the best the band ever had).
Lacuna Coil solidifies its position in the major league. Let's see however how long this trend will last...
