Kaosphere
Kaosphere
Since PANTERA rose to success in the end of the 80's with "Cowboys from Hell", and other bands that followed them, brought the groove melodies and harmonies into Metal, the genre wasn't the same anymore. Of course many bad bands appeared, but some created new musical possibilities. And as a fruit of this aspect, KAOSPHERE comes from Australia to unleash chaos (sorry for the pun) with their EP "Kaosphere". As heirs of the Groove legacy, they play a form of Metalcore based upon a brutal and aggressive insight, but not as greasy as many of their musical comrades of the same genre. We can hear some influences coming from Melodic Death Metal and Thrash Metal as well, what shapes their melodies with a bitter touch and a good technique. And they are pretty good, although there isn't anything new in their musical work.
The sound quality is very good. As I wrote above, they prefer something defined and clear in terms of musical aesthetics. But get the wrong idea: it's truly brutal and aggressive, but staying away from an excessive and greasy sound that could prejudice their melodies. There are four songs on "Kaosphere" (two are intros and the last one is a weird outro), all of them showing talent. On "Brothers in Arms", there are fine melodies and a good technical work from bass guitar and drums, as the guitars shows excellent arrangements on the oppressive "Slay". On "Chokehold" and "Forsaken Shadows", you'll find very good vocals with hooking instrumental parts, along great amounts of energy and aggressiveness. KAOSPHERE is a promising name in the modern Metal genres, and I hope that the future will refine their work even more. They'll be great with the right chance at hand.
