Jordan Rudess is the infamous keyboardist of DREAM THEATER since 1999. Rudess has already released 10 solo albums with unique keyboard-based music. In The Road Home Rudess pays tribute to his influences such as YES, GENESIS, GENTLE GIANT, KING CRIMSON and ELP.
This is the progressive rock of the 70's and 80's with Jazz and Fusion elements arranged by Jordan Rudess with added help from respected musicians such as Kip Winger (WINGER), Rod Morgenstein (WINGER, DIXIE DREGS), Neal Morse (SPOCK'S BEARD), Steven Wilson (PORCUPINE TREE), Nick D' Virgillio (GENESIS, FATES WARNING) and more.
Jordan Rudess is a musician with vision; he takes the original songs and he doesn't make a simple cover of 'em but adds parts that weren't originally in these songs.He does make something worth listening. It's clear that musicians like Rick Wakeman (YES) and Peter Gabriel & Tony Banks (both from GENESIS) are the pioneers of this keyboard music and sound , Rudess respects their composition in a deferent but good way.
It is obvious that this a work for some special audience and people that are comfortable progressive music and fans of the groups mentioned above. Also The Road Home is an album that a keyboardist should listen to carefully. Else...
