23 Years
Jeff Brown
What's up, Heavy Metal maniacs? I'm here once again to give you an insight on JEFF BROWN and his brilliantly produced new album: "23 Years" via Mausoleum Records.
Upon pressing the play button; I was expecting a soft Rock album... But how wrong was I. Hailing from England, London...We have a fine gentleman who has produced an epic album; as well as earning himself a new fan. Many surprises in store for any Rock 'N' Roll fan, and Heavy Metal fans alike. I distinctively heard similarities from HALFORD's "Made Of Metal" album so if you love that this should be right up your alley.
Jeff Brown has fine vocals for this kind of genre. Clean, great and precise. Guitars, bass and drums all have perfect sounding production. This is "feel good" but hard and heavy music at its finest. "Crazy World" will give you that vibe almost instantly. "23 Years" is an innocent anthem with a similar outcome, but then incomes the epic "Casino Royale", groovy guitar work, epic screaming vocals.
"23 Years" is mostly a very catchy album; this proves this rightly so in the epic "Contagious". I'd have liked this particular song to be longer as it was only 2 minutes long; but it was extremely catchy and fun. It doesn't hurt to press back on the player though, does it? "Fallen Angels" continues to build up the heaviness and hype; positive nature that "23 Years" gives off. In the same vain as "Contagious" but hallelujah - much longer, we have ourselves another very catchy one that is "Once In Every Lifetime".
"When The Love Is Gone" is a life lesson in what we face everyday and showcases an epic anthem but is equally just as emotional and enjoyable. Toning up the heaviness with "Calling Me, Calling You" has Jeff Brown's talent in check as well as the catchy sounds I enjoy so much. His vocals are very much noteworthy around this area. He sings from the heart and the balls and the bass and guitar sound is just spot on quality. Nothing but positive regards to this man. "Stay With Me", "Slipping Away" and "Life Goes On" have a similar intake to "When The Love Is Gone". Three catchy, great but enjoyable anthems that should make for a great Live gig.
So hailing from London myself; I'm proud to call myself a JEFF BROWN fan. I'll have to make sure to catch him Live. Overall, the bottom line is that "23 Years" is an almost perfect album. JEFF BROWN performs in solo and has talent all round. It's crazy to think that one man can produce such a fine, but masterful piece of work. I've said it before, solo artists will always continue to inspire me and I'll always regard them as noteworthy contributions to the music industry. So, if you love Rock 'N' Roll and Heavy Metal in general, support Jeff Brown and enjoy "23 Years" for yourself. I guarantee you won't regret it.
