On The Edge Of Tomorrow

INVISIBLE MIRROR is a Progressive Heavy Metal band, signed to Worm Hole Death Records, the forceful Italian label in 2014, and which derived of lineup changes and the multiple vicissitudes of the life of a professional musician, have just released their debut album: "On the Edge of Tomorrow", almost three years later. Ever from the instrumental intro in "Frozen River", this record stablishes a bar of quality that derives from the long road travelled by these experienced musicians, the metaphors on the other hand seem a bit overlapped on this first song, a frozen river in itself holds a pretty strong meaning within itself already; however this is set aside for "Strike Back", a more direct song that sets this work on its tracks.
I truly enjoyed the general outline of "Believe" ¸ the structure along with the sequences in the background and the constant verses make this song a musical journey within itself that I had to enjoy more than once, as some of the intros are similar and I went from song to song without reading the title in order to avoid my mind giving extra meaning to the music by reading the name of the track, I often confused it with "Conspiracy of the minds" only time would make me know the difference. The energy on "Conspiracy of Minds" develops an atmosphere worthy of a many thousand crowd and depicts this band as a project ready for the future and the things to come right in this very important moment for them, without a doubt, my favorite song of the whole album with the most argumentative and up to date lyrics, Liars everywhere laying in its power, is anything more precise than that to describe world leaders nowadays? I think not.
I think the best feature of this band is consistency and the way they build an uprising through the fast paced, agile and energetic in crescendo of melodic passages and rhythmic constructs to bind it all together. The lyrics seemed a little over enigmatic for me, even for the Prog Rock feeling that they are meant to have, perhaps some monstrous rant to back Seba Dixon's now and again would add up to the bands target to take the road less travelled towards the definition of its ultimate essence.
