Founded in 2015, INFURIATE is set to release their debut self titled album via Everlasting Spew Records August 31st 2018. Why waste any time, these Texas guys don't. "Juggernaut of Pestilence" comes in strong like cranking on a blender at max power. No testing the waters, no sipping to make sure its not too hot. My fist impression is simply this. No pussies. This is extreme death metal at one of it's finer moments, especially for a debut.

"Slaughter for Salvation" instantly reminded me of DEICIDE "Dead by Dawn." There is no shortage of attack and speed pounding from the snare and a give/take relationship between tinny ride back hands and a door knocking succession of a close hit hat taps. The guitar line has a fast hammer pull hammer pull palm chug hammer pull in a thick mid tone distortion that is both dirty but clear. Proving maybe too fast for a pit unless it was filled with adrenaline pumped no-doze junkies.

Finishing out this nine song obligatory aggression session is "Cannibalistic Gluttony." Again I greeted with a familiarity in the form of CANNIBAL CORPSE'S, "I will kill you." About the 2 minute 40 second mark is this addictive chop from the rhythm section with intermittent pauses of silence while the drums still keep blasting like an escaped inmate running from the cops. Interesting enough there is a demo on the bands Bandcamp site dated 2016 that has "Collective Suffering" on it. What you will notice is an extreme difference in the vocals. The demo sounds a little more like SEPULTURA during the "Schizophrenia" album. The newer version definitely shows an improvement. If you like the old school 90's death metal modernized by todays technology in sound recording INFURIATE picks up right where the Florida scene died. Packed with raw aggression and brute force these guys are relentless.

The only downside is they captured some of the 90's downside. Monotony. Where it is a little difficult to differentiate one song from another. The lack of diversity. These guys are bad ass and obviously talented. They have mastered the art of one distinct sound. I understand you want to dig your heels in as knowing exactly who you are and no headroom for mistaking what you are about, however its not a bad thing to think outside of the box. Because INFURIATE did deliver some serious rage and carnivorous lust I recommend you keep an eye on them. I can't conclude until I hear what they do next. My hopes are high.
