Modern Metal is one of the emerging genres in this new age of metal. HEAVIEST, a four-piece band from Brazil is one of the bands that are gaining attention in this modern metal field. Their latest release, "The Wall of Chaos-T" is the second full length record in four years. There is a very big expectation for this album, maybe because of how it is advertised. However, the first and foremost track quickly negates the high expectations for this album. "Like Those Ones" is literally like those opening songs that immediately put the entire record in question. The sound is rather generic, from the down-tuned guitars, the pattern of the drums and the bass. Also, the lyrics rarely rhyme, and some of which sounds like an awkward insertion. The chorus, which is supposed to power-up the song is also poor in every aspect.

These patterns continue until the fourth track "Can't You See". The songs particularly "Blood" and "Can't You See" are special mentions. It's like they mixed the pieces together without consulting one another. The song "Blood", as a whole is very chaotic, for the lack of a better word. The main problem with "Can't You See" is its core. The lyrics are very mediocre. The message is there, but it lacks creativity - the most important thing in metal. Streaming the album seems like an eternity, really. It gets even more painful at times. The vocals and the addition of backing singers don't seem to fit with the tunes of the instruments. The guitar solos are also, once again I'll repeat, generic. It's like any solo you'll here anywhere. This is not to say that there is no talent here at all, because really, the talent is there, the energy is there, the power is there. What disappoints me is the way the lyrics are written, and how the notes are plotted considering this lineup consists of highly acclaimed musicians. The album in its entirety for me seems to be a forced release.

On the other side, the only positives I can see here are first, the versatility of the singer. "Kill The King" is a very good example. The singing is so flexible, from the high notes, primal screams and gutturals. This is a consolation, kudos to Alax William. Also, the messages in the songs are of complete sincerity and of good will. But if they want to reach the entire metal community or even the whole world, they have to deliver it much better with their songs.
