Heart Revolution
Heart Attack

Riff-filled and incredibly melodic, and taking some influence from power metal arrangements, Greek quintet HEART ATTACK's latest release: "Heart Revolution" is full of energy, emotion and power.
The songs all feel very familiar right from the start, using all of the more genre-defining cliché's that have pulled power metal into the mainstream arena that it currently occupies. The songs deal greatly with mythology surrounding their Greek heritage ("Hellenic Forces"), adventure and fantasy.
The album's sound is largely uplifting heavy guitar riffs and thick, luscious keyboard harmonies, complimented by clean singing, with an incredibly wide range, and some really tasty guitar work, which occasionally wanders into the ridiculous shred area with quite a lot of a neoclassical influence. Occasionally the group will back off a bit with some beautiful ballad work both within louder songs as contrasting sections, or as full on songs in their own right.
From time to time the tracks are very reminiscent of old school metal, some of the riffs reminding me of 80s groups like THE SCORPIANS with the harmonised lead lines. The keyboard sounds during some of the breakdown and bridge sections do, however, create a good modern sound, with some quite funky, almost techno influenced sounds going on.
The songs ease very easily into the subconscious, and so for any fan of power metal this is a great band, although it is fairly stock in trade for the style- almost to the point where some songs start to blend into each other into one mass of metal goodness.
That being said HEART ATTACK have released a great, powerful album which will certainly gain them recognition away from their native Greece, and launch them to the next level. "Heart Revolution" may not set any cities aflame, but the tracks will have you hooked and singing along pretty quickly.
