In The Name Of Thrash Metal
Extreme Attack

Once again the powers that be have seen fit to deliver me a Thrash Metal album from a foreign land. In this case, it's EXTREME ATTACK from Ecuador, who have decided to grace us with a record called "In the Name of Thrash Metal" via EBM Records. Oy, I don't know what's worse, this silly band name or this god-awful album title. But wait, there's a third option: the singer / bassist Patricio Viveros sounds like Pepe Le Pew from Looney Toons when he sings. Ok, not that bad, but pretty bad. He definitely sounds like a French villain in some bad cartoon. So obviously I couldn't take any of this seriously, and one look at the album art confirms that.
And let's have a look at some of these song titles, shall we? "War Is Shit", "Hell Is Your Destiny", and "Metal Slave" clearly show that no one sprained any brain cells in the writing process. The music is also completely generic and utterly forgettable on not just these songs, but the entire album. It's one Metal cliché after another. There is absolutely nothing original anywhere on this thing. I would really love to grab the execs who signed this crap and shake some sense into them. This entire album is a waste of time, and a waste of whatever monies were spent on getting it put out. There really isn't anything else I can say about this unmitigated disaster. Heed my advice. Avoid this one at all costs.
