Embraced Depart - Promo 2004 - DEMO album cover

Hmm, Embraced Depart play a mixture of Atmospheric Metal and Electro that is not often found in Greek Metal acts. Even just because of this interesting detail I was anxious to listen to their work. Well, their promo indeed left me with quite positive feelings.
The band was formed around 2003 in Edessa. It seems that more and more cities from all over Greece are getting more active regarding hard music (thumbs up) as a three piece act. Since then the usual lineup changes took place (people came and left the band). This promo was recorded in early 2004. Sorry but the bio sheet that accompanied the promo doesn't add much more than this. What is also mentioned is the fact that the band is also working on five more songs in order to create a full length release.
The four songs included in this promo have a pretty good production (though this kind of music demands a lot more effort in the working part). All four compositions can be considered quite complete when it comes to the music but they must work on the vocals (the Greek accent is almost all time present). Several details in the songs prove the fact that the band has done a lot of effort upon these songs in order to make them as smooth as possible. I think that Melancholy Brakes and especially Soul Of A Shaman are the most interesting tracks in here.
I strongly believe that the band can compete with foreign acts on every level but they must also throw in a lot of hard work. I don't know what the situation is right now in the band but I am really looking forward to hearing more from them.
