Eclipse - Paradigm album cover

Sweden entered with two feet into the worldwide scene at the end of the 80's and beginning of the 90's. Of course names as Yngwie J. Malmesteen, SILVER MOUNTAIN, CANDLEMASS and BATHORY were known out of the country, but even the commercial success of EUROPE in the USA with "The Final Countdown" didn't open the doors for Swedish bands back then. But things started to change when Swedish Death Metal appeared, the things improved and all the Metal genres inside its borders bloomed to the world. Today, Swedish Metal/Rock is a strong reality that causes envy to many countries due its commercial success. And as an heir of this feature, the quartet ECLIPSE comes bringing the house down with their seventh work, "Paradigm".

They mix a melodic hooking form of Glam/Hard Rock of the 80's with the weight of traditional Heavy Metal. Obviously the whole musical aesthetics are focused on the construction of excellent melodies, charming choruses that are easy to catch (and hard to forget), and all working in a perfect way and with the right dose of energy. Maybe the genre that they play can't be said as a new thing, but the way they play it is really great, because the quartet has a strong personality. Erik Mårtensson himself recorded, produced, mixed, and mastered "Paradigm", creating a sound quality that is modern and really heavy, but clean in a way that everything can be heard and fully understood by the listeners. And the things work in a pretty good way, the one that fits completely on their musical work.

11 melodic assaults are given by the quartet on "Paradigm", all them giving the fans a good time. "Viva la Victoria" (a perfect mix between a heavy outfit with charming melodies, with a lovely chorus that anyone will sing during the shows, and the vocals are perfect), "Mary Leigh" (a bit more aggressive than the previous one, but the melodies are amazing, and a solid work from bass guitar and drums can be heard), "Blood Wants Blood" (it's an accessible song, that kind that could be heard on radios during the 80's, but it's amazing how it seduces the listeners), "Delirious" (a modern Hard 'n ' Heavy kick in the face, with another chorus that can't be forgotten), "When the Winter Ends" (a tender song, with a charming commercial appeal, and very good guitars are presented on it), and "The Masquerade" (a song that isn't fast, but the energy that comes from its melodies is incredible) are the ones indicated for a first hearing on the album. On the second time, the listeners will hear it fully for sure.

The truth is that "Paradigm" was born to be remarkable release, so let it seduces and hooks you, because no one can stop ECLIPSE as they're charging.
