The Infinite Descent
Diamanthian

Quickly, say as fast as you can Inconsolable Despondency ten times! You can't do it, right? Apart from sending me the album with a black and white photocopy of the front cover (well, it is mostly a black photocopy since I can't make out anything of it), I can't really bad-mouth this act.
Diamanthian formed in Liverpool, England in the late 90's from the ashes of Desolate Silence. Their lineup was stabilized around 2003 and since then they have managed to win the Best Unsigned Band award twice in a known magazine (not as known as Metal Temple - hahaha). Their debut The Infinite Descent was recorded during a tour in Finland with Maple Cross back in 2004.
Well, Diamanthian is one of those melodic Power Metal bands from Finland that follow the path of Strato... oops, sorry, wrong review. Diamanthian is one of those acts that the words melody / intellectuality in riffing / understandable vocal lines are not included in their daily vocabulary. Yeah, we are talking about the sole definition of the term music cannibalism. So if you are a fan of acts like Cannibal Corpse / Six Feet Under etc, you will probably love this one.
For me... well, I really don't like it... Come on! I don't get it, I really don't get this kind of music. It's just too raw for my ears and the production is really poor as well. Knowing that I am not the most appropriate reviewer for such kinds of music, I'll give it a fair...
