Some names in the past never had the due respect and fame. Sometimes, due to some conditions, some bands never become as known as their musical work deserves. Prior to the Swedish Death Metal invasion in the beginning in the 90s, Sweden gave birth to a good name: DETEST, a band that, after 27 years of its end, has their work released on an album, called "End of All Ends".

For those days, their musical work was a bit different from the reigning German Power Metal or North American Thrash Metal. They made an intelligent option: to mix both genres. So their musical work is truly heavy and aggressive, but done with some excellent melodies. Today perhaps, this method sounds pretty eroded, but between 1989 and 1991, it was really something different. Even being a recollection of many materials from the past recorded only in our days, we have a sound quality that could be better, but it fits in their work, granting weight and aggressiveness, but keeping the sound clarity on a very good level. The rawness of the recordings will not be a trouble.

All the songs are excellent, but pay attention to the good melodies and aggressive touch of "The Solemn Avenger", the melodic strength of the guitars on "Final Hour" and "Away", the heavy load of musical weight of the rhythmic session on "The Savior", the hooking tempos of "Rebellion", the abrasive raw energy presented on "Divide and Conquer", and the apocalyptic melodies and dense musical atmosphere of "The End of All Ends" can be named as the album's finest moments.

It seems that there's a main conceptual idea behind the lyrics of "End of All Ends", so you can decipher this enigma. The album is a very good legacy of a promising name from those years...
