Construcdead - The grand machinery album cover

It was about time I got in touch with Construcdead's music. I know, they are a well-known band. So what? Better late than never! This time I have to review one more release by Black Lodge. This label has signed many good bands and has released various great CDs in late 2005 and 2006. I hope they will continue like that...

Construcdead were formed in 1999, although I admit I thought that they are much older. Anyway, the line up changes are many to mention and I don't think that they are so important. Their debut album, Repent, was issued in 2002 through Soundholic. In January 2004, they released their second album, Violadead, via Sound Pollution and they release their fourth full-length work through Black Lodge.

The Grand Machinery is a melodic Thrash/Death Metal album based on the Swedish Metal culture. Construcdead deliver a both melodic and brutal assault, combined with exceptional mastery! Classic Swedish production (which means almost perfect), great technical skills and incredible compositions that are performed on high speed by these crazy guys! Deeply influenced by bands such as At The Gates, The Haunted and Arch Enemy, this band should be considered as one of the elite of Melodic Death/Thrash Metal, especially after the latest 'too melodic' Arch Enemy album. Just take into consideration that Erik (the drummer) also plays in Terror 2000, an already established band! The only thing that disappointed me was the small duration of the CD. It is only 39 minutes! Just when you get warmed up, the party is over...

Anyway, if you want 39 minutes of good melodic Thrash/Death Metal, just buy this CD and there is no way you can be disappointed. Believe me, I was not! Oh, and something else. Did I mention that Jens Broman is the singer of Hatelight and The Defaced? I guess not...
