Strange
Conchadors

Really, tell me how often you hear of Metal bands from Turkey? I must confess this is my first listening. CONCHANDORS (from the word 'concha', that means 'arch'?) are from Afyon (don't know were this town is). These guys can play, even though they have limited ways to play or record this kind of music, as they note on their web page.
But these guys did a very good job with the sound to the instrumental part of their music. Nice heavy metal riffs and a good rhythm section, heavy ideas that with the proper production can blow our minds. But then comes the vocals and change this good image; it seems that the vocal part hasn't been recorded enough times. It sounds like Udo Dirkschneider...but he's not there yet!
There are 7 songs in Strange, with a playing time of 24 minutes overall ...not bad. The opening song Rise Against Love is the highlight of the album; melodic and has some ACCEPT riffs. A nice ballad, Whisper Of Darkness (I would prefer the clean guitar parts been played with an acoustic guitar), and of course the multi-time-changing song The Dog is how metal songs should be (it brought a little of Disposable Heroes in my mind!!!)
Hail to our metal friends in Afyon, Turkey...don't ever give up, just keep on rocking!!!
