Ceild - A View... album cover

There are moments when the experimental insight hat that guides all Metal genres that can be called Progressive must stop. The eclectic minimalisms, the search for a new level for speed and technical insight can make a band's musical work boring for the fans, even for those who are into the main genre of the band. And although CEILD still has a long way to go, their album "A View..." is here to state that they have future.

It's an instrumental and Progressive Metal band, and the quartet uses those gloomy and sad ambiences that all know from that later works of the English Progressive rockers of MARILLION. They have talent and are fine musicians, but to those who aren't into instrumental music and/or deal with such experimental approach, "A View..." can sounds boring. They still have to mature their musical formula, and even think about having a vocalist. The sound quality created by Silver Croze (the one who mixed and mastered the album) is clean and very good, keeping things clear to be understood, even the littlest musical arrangement the listener can find. But it sounds heavy as well, with very good instrumental tunes. On the sound production, all is almost perfect.

But honesty comes first, so "A View..." it's not an album for those who aren't into instrumental music, for it can sound boring, even with the excellent rhythm changes that exist on the songs, and the band needs to mature it a bit more. But "A View..." with its magic musical arrangements, the technical insight and heavy weight of "Around", the extreme Metal touches on "Elephant" and "Falaise", and the brutal parts of "Erased" (that bears some melancholic keyboards on many moments) are the ones for those who love a Progressive voyage given by music. CEILD is a good name, has a shining future if they can deal properly with their work, and once more: maybe a vocalist can take their music to the next level.
